Introducing Sarah Benikowsky: new Governance Associate

Hanga-Aro-Rau is proud to announce the appointment of Sarah Benikowsky as the newest Governance Associate to join their governing Council.

Sarah brings extensive experience in information management, technology, and archives from her work in local government and the arts sector.

As a current member of the Northland Local Advisory Committee for Fire and Emergency NZ, a Guardian/Kaitiaki of the Alexander Turnbull Library, and having previously served on the Disability Advisory Group for Whangārei District Council, Sarah is committed to finding ways she can contribute to her community.

With her Bachelor of Communication Design and studies through the chartered associate of Governance NZ, Sarah offers a creative, holistic, and nuanced perspective on strategy and governance. She is eager to apply her skills in her role as Governance Associate.

Sarah’s journey of being diagnosed with ADHD late in life has given her a deeper understanding of the challenges that face the neurodivergent community, and she is passionate about raising the voice and profile of neurodivergent needs to make impactful changes for communities.

Through her role on our Council, Sarah is prepared to learn and contribute to finding solutions to the big challenges faced by our industries. She is committed to working with industry to embrace change and move forward together.
